Hello, as a part of my research in the field of political science, I would very mush appreciate it if some members of the Guild Wars Community could fill out a quick survey. Please do not scroll down and read other people's answers, or do research on the internet prior to answering these questions. The idea is to get legitimate answers to important questions in life regarding areas that people tend to spend very little time thinking about. Before proceeding, I want to share a quick idea with you.

People think in pictures. For instance, if I tell you to think of a cat...a picture of a cat will come on the screen of your mind. The same thing happens with a stop sign, a refrigerator, a cactus, etc... The first two questions of this survey will be related to this idea.

1) When you think of the mind, what kind of picture do you get? Please describe it briefly or write "None" if you didn't get a picture.

2) Think about yourself. What kind of picture do you get? Please explain and put 'None' if you don't get a picture.

3) Can you list the six faculties of the mind? If not, give it your best shot.

(If you don't understand the question: The sensory factors are: see, hear, smell, taste and touch. The sensory factors are the faculties of the conscious mind. This question is asking for the faculties of the subconscious mind. If you have no idea, please still give it your best guess based on your knowledge of the subconscious mind).

4) On a scale of 0-5, how familiar are you with the terms conscious mind and subconscious mind?
0= I have never heard of that before!
5= I could define them both right now!

Before answering I have a plain then CRAZY personality

1) The brain from the opening theme of House
2) None
3) Hippocambus
4) 0-5 I would say 4

I don't know if this makes sense to you, but i feel inconsistent throughout my day. When I am home I feel like being lazy not doing anything, but when I am at work I am completely the opposite. Is this normal?

1) I saw a picture of a brain
2) I saw my 8th grade picture (straight teeth-just got my braces off, big glasses-it was the 80s, acne on my chin, plaid button-up shirt; probably my best year in school ever)
3) My best shot for subconscious mind? Dreams, innovation, instinct...that's all I got
4) I've heard of conscious thought and subconscious thought, but I don't really remember much text-book information on this, so I'd say about a 2

1. been watching too much futurama...so I get a brain in a glass with fluid around it.
2. I dont see myself but I see things I like--like my stuffed toys, etc.
3. memory, perception, thought, (its been 20+ years since my last psych class---)...bleh
4. 3+....I really DID take a few psychology and sociology classes in college, however, that was in the '80's, I am lucky to remember my husband's NAME somedays (and I see him daily).

need a nap now--too much thinking

1. No image, I just think of personality, philosophical inclination, something like that.

2. No image. I am simply myself. I am generally more self-conscious about how I feel and not so much about how I look.

3. Self-preservation, communication, entertainment. I don't really know XD

4. I guess 4.

After answering this survey, I got curious and found out that the 6 faculties are will (the focus of attention), perception (how we view and interpret things), memory (things that you still remember after many years), reason (analyzing, comparing, and evaluating ideas), imagination (visualizing something can help you make it real), and intuition (when you have a "gut feeling" about something). It sounds like pseudoscience but it might be useful to some people.

1. i get a picture of an opened andriod's brain, with many chords and labels extruding the crown, with lights sectioning off specific parts of the brain.

3. Emotional/Physical state also effects the sub-conscious, especially when dealing with sleep/dreams.

4. ill say 4 cause im not qouting a dictionary.
